چکیده

We study theoretically the electronic and transport properties of a diffusive superconductor-normal metal-superconductor (SNS) junction in the presence of a perpendicular magnetic field. We show that the field dependence of the critical current crosses over from the well-known Fraunhofer pattern in wide junctions to a monotonic decay when the width of the normal wire is smaller than the magnetic length ξH = √Φ0/H , where H is the magnetic field and Φ0 the flux quantum. We demonstrate that this behavior is intimately related to the appearance of a linear array of vortices in the middle of the normal wire, the properties of which are very similar to those in the mixed state of a type II superconductor. This novel vortex structure is also manifested in a strong modulation of the local density of states along the transversal dimension, which can be measured with existing experimental techniques. Nonequilibrium Josephson current in ballistic multiterminal SNS-junctions

We study the nonequilibrium Josephson current in a long two-dimensional ballistic SNS-junction with a normal reservoir coupled to the normal part of the junction. The current for a given superconducting phase difference φ oscillates as a function of voltage applied between the normal reservoir and the SNS-junction. The period of the oscillations is πh̄vF /L, with L the length of the junction, an...

Two-dimensional Josephson vortex lattice and anomalously slow decay of the Fraunhofer oscillations in a ballistic SNS junction with a warped Fermi surface

The critical current of a Josephson junction is an oscillatory function of the enclosed magnetic flux , because of quantum interference modulated with periodicity h/2e. We calculate these Fraunhofer oscillations in a two-dimensional (2D) ballistic superconductor–normal-metal–superconductor (SNS) junction. For a Fermi circle the amplitude of the oscillations decays as 1/ or faster. If the Fermi ...

Josephson current and multiple Andreev reflections in graphene SNS junctions

The Josephson effect and superconducting proximity effect were observed in superconductor-graphenesuperconductor SGS Josephson junctions with coherence lengths comparable to the distance between the superconducting leads. By comparing the measured gate dependence of the proximity induced subgap features multiple Andreev reflections and of the supercurrent to theoretical predictions, we find tha...

Josephson Current For a Graphene Nanoribbon Using a Lattice Model

A tight binding approach based on the Bogoliubov-de Gennes approach has been used to calculate the DC Josephson current for a lattice model for S-GNR-S junctions , for short junctions with respect to superconducting coherence length. We calculate the phase, length, width and chemical potential dependence at the Josephson junction and discuss the similarities and differences with regard to the t...
